Sinclair Dental Sales Training

Vatech America held a training session from July 11th-12th, in Fort Lee, NJ, for our Sinclair Dental Dealers. To get more insight into how the training went, I spoke with Pete Thomson, the District Sales Manager for Western Canada, and Lennart Elgaard, the Director of Education.

According to Pete Thomson, we recently received Health Canada approval to sell the new Smart 8×8 and 12×9 in Canada, along with the Green CT2 lineup. The objective of the training was to train the Sinclair team on all aspects of selling our new products, from features and benefits, through hands-on training and software utilization. The team was most engaged with the hands-on training and software training portions.

Lennart Elgaard, Director of Education, led the software portion of the training:

I feel it’s essential that everyone within Vatech, including the Sinclair Sales Team, have a proper understanding of how to utilize our imaging systems. This is the foundation for capturing high quality diagnostic images. As great as our technology is, it’s only as good the person who is using the equipment. The single greatest issue that impacts image quality and creates calls for our support team is not knowing how to use our imaging systems correctly. My goal is to ensure that everyone understands how to use our imaging systems, but also why we do things a certain way, so they get a much better understanding of how our imaging systems work and how to get the most out of it.

As for the 3D planning software, I made sure to includes scans for each specialty in the dental industry- Perio, Endo, Ortho, OMS, TMJ, Airway, and especially Implantology. Much of our time was dedicated towards understanding how to configure the software to maximize efficiency and workflow in an office. We utilized the airway measurement tools, implant planning tools, the oblique tool, and the consult tab of both the 3D-i and EZDent-i softwares. We also went through the tools to data group, and merge an STL with a DICOM file.

Pete Thomson enjoyed the hands-on training and actual workflow usage of the equipment. According to Pete, a big portion of the conversation was about how to mutually grow our businesses and create an even stronger partnership. The entire Sinclair Hi-Tech ESS team is completely on our side. They want to promote their exclusive and work with us to get the TSR (Technical Service Representatives) team even more excited to sell Vatech products. They asked that we light a fire under the TSR’s at the Sinclair National Sales Meeting. We have set the stage for more growth, which I know will be realized not only in my region, but across the entire country.
