Not only did we make health care more accessible than ever by opening our own state-run health care marketplace, we made health insurance more affordable than ever before. We are also standing up for at-risk youth with a long-overdue increase in state reimbursement rates for providers through the Children’s System of Care program, which serves approximately 60,000 young people with emotional, behavioral, or developmental challenges. But, make no mistake, the Portal Bridge decision is a big victory for our commuters – and I thank our federal delegation, in Congress, for their tireless help. That is why I am for reforming a failed incentives system, just as I am for reforming our ethics laws – to let more light shine in. We should all agree that a targeted program with strong compliance standards is a good thing. Because of proximity to the best job opportunities in America, to the best schools for their kids in America, and the best communities to call home in America. The answer to the question of affordability isn’t found in rewarding the special interests. Fully funding women’s health care and family planning. We are focused on ensuring that our state government works the way it should, and under this budget, the needs of New Jersey will be met by a government that is more efficient and smaller than it was when we took office.
